STATUES ALSO DIE
In 2011 I moved to England. Since then this was my work. I have used my subjective experience as an empirical data originated by my own experience from 2011 until today working as a life model and the use of it as material for my artistic practice.
The different aspects that I explore can be understood as model's anxieties and are brief critiques of themes that address a range of topics. The Project studies the role of the life model in the history of art, perceptions of the female nude as subject/object, the particular circumstances of being a woman immigrant in this context and the tensions/correlations in my practice between the roles of artist and model, it is concerned with the politics of the gaze and how this has been impacted by technological advances and surveillance.
